I was with WDP in Brent before coming to AIR Sports Network, I was flat and bored and wasn't doing anything. I had no interest in exercise or in my health, I was even less interested in my diet. I was very frustrated, unemployed and living day to day with no real aims, goals or ambition, I had no friends and no positive role models and was totally stuck in my ways.
Every day was the same, I had nothing to look forward to and my self esteem was really low, I reached a stage where I had no drive and no motivation to do anything constructive with my life. It was easier to hide myself away and seclude myself from the world than it was to join in.
Since I joined AIR Sports Network the whole staff team have taught and encouraged me to look after myself, my health and my fitness. They worked with me on looking at employment and developing my confidence and I attended workshops on finding work and how to use a positive attitude. I’ve turned a corner and I'm feeling more comfortable with myself, I'm enjoying the training and it’s helping a lot with my health and attitude. I’m finding structure and routine and I'm enjoying life for the first time in years. I found the personal mentoring really useful and since I started I've lost a lot of weight and I've completed a licence renewal form. Everything is moving forward.
Short term I'm now able to see further than tomorrow, I'm looking for a job that will challenge me and feel valued, 6 months ago I’d never have thought id be saying that, but here I am. I’m more confident, motivated and ready to move myself forward. I'm confident I can make it now and be something that I want to be.
I would encourage anyone who needs help to join the programme, I wasn't sure about it at first but I quickly saw a difference in myself, physically and mentally. Go along and give it a go.
