Klavs was looking for a way to get fit and take control of his life and after hearing about AIR from a support worker came along to one of AIR’s fitness sessions to try it out.
From the beginning Klavs fully engaged in the fitness and wellbeing programme and soon found a passion for fitness training as well as an interest in supporting others do the same.
Klavs quickly became a regular attender at sessions and his commitment and enthusiasm made him a very popular and respected member of the programme. With this new found motivation and support Klavs immediately stopped his cannabis use and took control of his drinking habits; his fitness, health and outlook on life changed dramatically.
With guidance & support from AIR, Klavs undertook his CSCS card and found temporary work in the Shard building, this experience not only provided him with valuable work experience but provided an important sense of achievement, confidence and provided the spark of self-belief & motivation for him to really evaluate his future and career.
Klavs is currently working with AIR on becoming a personal trainer, AIR are supporting him with his Level 3 personal trainer course and if all continues to go well there is the potential to enrol in AIR’s supported volunteer fitness trainer programme.
Through the hook of sports and the right level of stimulation, support and hard work Klavs has turned his back on alcohol and drugs and is now looking forward to a bright and positive future.
