AIR Sports Network will be taking its programme to Phuket, Thailand from the 29th May to the 7th June as part of the 10th Seniors World Cup organised by The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Senior Footballer’s Association of Thailand. AIR Sports Network has been asked to deliver a range of community based health, fitness and education programmes to schools and disadvantaged local communities across Bangkok and Phuket.
AIR Sports Network has a long term relationship with Thailand having previously delivered schools programmes, coaching camps and skills seminars. Working with the local police, Government and local community groups, AIR Sports Network staff will deliver a week long roadshow of seminars, skills workshops and issue based education programmes.
Activities on the packed schedule will include touring roadshows in local areas affected by poverty, lack of services, poor health or substance/alcohol misuse. AIR Sports Network staff will link up with local communities, schools and community programmes to deliver a range of coach education sessions, community football/ fitness sessions and wellbeing workshops with local young people.
Colm Whitty, Director of AIR Sports Network said “the aim of the visit is support the use of football and wellbeing as a tool for change within the communities we will visit, it is also a great opportunity to support local coaches with developing their skills and a chance for our staff to pick up some tips from local coaches”
