AIR Sports is delighted to announce the launch in August of its new Sports and Personal development programme in Medway, courtesy of its latest partnership with Turning Point.
The new programme will enable AIR Sports to engage with Medway’s hardest to reach individuals affected by substance misuse and alcohol through the creation of local sports hubs in Chatham, Strood, Gillingham and Rainham. Services on offer include weekend, afternoon and evening sport sessions, breakfast and lunch clubs, football coaching, Boxercise and multi-level fitness and wellbeing sessions.
As well as health and fitness focused activity sessions, individuals will have access to AIR’s innovative guest speaker and mentoring programmes as well as its highly successful one to one wrap around support service.
AIR Sports Director Colm Whitty said “We are delighted with this partnership and are really looking forward to delivering our new programme in Medway, the main focus of AIR Sports is to support the most excluded and disadvantaged in society and this programme will really help us to transform those lives.”
“Unlike other short term fixed programmes AIR is able to invest the time and support that individuals need to make the significant changes to their lives that enable them to turn their lives around.
“AIR Sports service users on average achieve significant personal change across offending, substance misuse and employability, four out of every five individuals achieve a positive outcome through working with AIR and over 65% of individuals identify a major reduction in substance and alcohol misuse.
