I found out about AIR Sports Network while having counselling at WDP in Barnet. I was unemployed at the time and trying to remain abstinent from cannabis. I needed motivation, something to keep me occupied and something to focus on, I needed something to prevent me relapsing. I found the sessions hard at first, I felt aches because I wasn't used to exercising and wanted to stop, The coaches really helped me through this stage, I was looking for something in my life and they convinced me to stick with it. I’m so glad I did, I had a job but the stress caused me to relapse, start smoking again and I got depressed.
That’s when AIR Sports Network helped me stay strong, they gave me focus, motivation and strength, stopped me losing my sanity. They supported me on to a fitness and exercise course with Focus Fitness and I’m really thinking about being a personal trainer, without that initial support from the staff I would never have known about my interest in fitness.
I’m going to the gym and exercising regularly and still getting great care, advice and support from the staff, I’ve learned a huge amount and I’m looking forward to see where I can go. I really want to learn to be a counsellor and begin helping others, I’m now also working again as a support worker.
The programme at AIR Sports Network is great, there’s lots on offer and they will help you with work, courses and advice when you need it. I really liked how they texted and called me, this was great as I felt I always had someone who would listen.
I have thoroughly enjoy my time with ASN and would encourage anyone needing help to join.
